Already mentioned in a papal bull of 1145 by Pope Eugene III, the church dates back to the High Middle Ages. The current building, consecrated in 1679, results from enlarging the mid15th century construction, also reversing its orientation. The single-nave interior contains beautiful Baroque altars, seventeenth century paintings and museum pieces.
