A round tower without battlements, it probably dates back to the latter thirteenth century. As a watchtower it guarded the path that led up to Colle Dondeuil and the envers mule-track which descended to Verrès. As a signal tower, according to tradition, it kept the castles of Villa and Graines in communication with each other.
